Our client based in Thika specializes in producing packaging materials. They seek to hire a Quality Control and Operations Manager. The individual is responsible for planning, directing, and coordinating all operational, safety, and quality control activities within the company.
Roles and Responsibilities
Responsible for supplier management—ensuring timely delivery of raw materials
Ensure storage areas meet required safety and hygienic safety standards
Lead cost-effective and competitive procurement
Oversee inventory management of raw materials and finished goods
Ensure that finished goods are properly categorized and stacked
Ensure that the finished goods store meets safety and hygiene standards
Coordinate with the sales team for the dispatch/collection of orders.
Ensure goods received notes and delivery notes are signed and uploaded
Ensure maintenance of the generator and office spaces.
Ensure regular maintenance and repair of equipments and warehouse
Ensure vehicles are serviced and insurance and log books are up to date.
Ensure insurance for staff and warehouse is up to date.
Ensure licenses and permits are all renewed and up to date
Ensure fire extinguishers are maintained and staff are trained in fire safety
Ensure pest and rodent control is implemented
Monitor CCTV cameras regularly and ensure the warehouse is secure 24/7
Ensure casual labor payments are made in coordination with Accountant
Ensure compliance with OSHA and other quality standards requirements
Develop, implement and maintain a comprehensive product safety and QMS
Monitor and audit factory cleaning, housekeeping, and hygiene standards
Resolve customer complaints and investigate serious incidents
In charge of site visits and audits and implementing corrective action.
Provide cross-functional leadership bridge between different departments
Required Specifications
Minimum of 5 years in quality control & safety management in manufacturing (preferably in packaging).
Undergraduate degree in logistics/supply chain/project management.
Experience in operations management in a manufacturing setting
In-depth knowledge of production processes, quality control, and logistics.
Good communication skills, verbal and written.
Strong leadership skills and interpersonal skills.
Strong problem solving and decision making abilities.
