Purpose of the Position
The Research Assistant will support both the research and business development teams by conducting reviews, data collection, analysis, and contributing to proposal drafting.
Scope of Work and Responsibilities
Research Support
Data Collection and Preparation: Collect and organize data from databases, surveys, and field studies; prepare clean datasets.
Literature Review: Conduct reviews on relevant topics and summarize findings.
Report Writing: Assist in drafting research reports, policy briefs, and documentation of methodologies.
Business Development and Proposal Support
Opportunity Identification: Research funding opportunities, donor priorities, and relevant trends.
Proposal Development: Support drafting and editing of proposal sections; provide relevant data and statistics.
Documentation: Ensure proposal documents are complete, well-organized, and meet requirements.
Expected Outputs
Literature review on specified research topic.
Cleaned and organized dataset.
Contributions to proposal drafts, including supporting documents.
Updates on relevant funding opportunities.

Reports to the Senior Research Manager and collaborates with both research and business development teams.
Qualifications
Education: Bachelor's degree in either of the following, Social Sciences, Economics, Public Health, Statistics, Data Science, or a related field
Experience: 1-2 years in a research or business development role; experience in data collection and proposal writing.
Skills: Strong analytical and communication skills, proficiency in research software (e.g., SPSS, R, Excel), and familiarity with proposal writing.
Strong attention to detail.
Presentation skills – ability to write and speak clearly to easily communicate complex ideas in a way that is easy to understand.
Problem-solving skills.
