About the Client:Our client in the hospitality industry, is looking for a candidate to hire to join their team as aRestaurant Cook.Summary of Duties and Responsibilities.Ensure preparation of food products are done effectively and correctly as per the laid down proceduresSet up workstations with all needed ingredients and cooking equipmentKeep a sanitized and orderly environment in the kitchenEnsure all foods and produce received are well labelled, date stamped and stored correctlyEnsure the standard recipes for all dishes are followed correctly and maintain uniformity of taste, Quality and portion controlEnsure food preparation procedures are followed with critical check on costs and wastageEnsure all relevant documentations are maintained and report the same to immediate supervisorEnsure all stock levels are maintained and correctly documentedSupports the smooth running of the kitchen department, where all aspects of the guest dining experience throughout the establishment are delivered to the highest levelWorks as part of a team that maximizes guest satisfaction and comfort, delivering a positive and timely response to enquiries and problem solutionTakes responsibility for the duties and tasks assigned to the role, ensuring that all work is carried out in a timely and professional mannerDelivers on departmental plans and objectives, where Restaurant initiatives & targets are achievedCollaborates with the Head Chef, ensuring that costs and inventory are controlled, that productivity and performance levels are attainedBuilds and maintains effective working relationships whilst promoting the company culture and valuesEnsures adherence and compliance to all legislation where due diligence requirements and best practice activities are planned, delivered and documented for internal and external audit, performing follow-up as requiredEnsure to attend to any other duties that may be assigned from time to timeKey QualificationsCertificate / Diploma in Food and Beverage, Culinary ArtsPrevious work experience as cook is an added advantageAvailable on a regular basisBasic computer skills is an added advantageKnowledge in HACCPHave at least 1-2 years of experience in the same positionCompetencies and Skills:Must be a team player with strong work ethicsExcellent communication and multi-tasking skillsDisplay high initiative, be self-motivated, and require minimal supervisionMust be an open minded person and a fast learnerShould be flexible to work various shifts, for long hours and on weekends and holidays as wellExcellent interpersonal skills and focus on serving customersExcellent record in kitchen operations and proceduresStrong customer service skillsExceptional cooking skills
