Project Overview and Role: The Kenya Feed the Future Private Sector Activity (KPSA) is a $48 million, USAID-funded, Palladium implemented project that will accelerate inclusive economic growth in Kenya through partnerships with large agricultural firms, health firms and other sectors.
Using a systems approach, KPSA will provide a suite of customized, high-impact services that increase the productivity of firms such as SMEs, smallholders, Business Advisory Service Providers (BASPs) and Financial Institutions (FIs), increase market linkages, and mobilize finance to support targeted sectors.
From – , KPSA will use its Inclusive Growth Platform to mobilize $ million in finance, create new jobs, increase exports and sales, and increase access to healthcare services.The Senior Manager, Impact and Measurement will lead all efforts related to collecting and analyzing the data that will ultimately determine the impact of USAID's intervention to facilitate significant and new investment.
S/he will be responsible for tracking and aggregating all project data to support the team in evaluating the project's progress.
This person will be a critical leader to establish and foster a results-oriented and data fluent technical team with a learning mindset.
Location: Nairobi, Kenya Roles and Responsibilities:Lead management of the project's AMELP, which includes the knowledge management and learning plan Lead the finalization of the AMELP and QASP and/or other required MEL deliverables Lead the technical teams in collecting, aggregating, and analyzing baseline data in the first several months of the project, which may necessitate staff training and capacity building in MEL Design and plan for evaluations, studies and assessments, ensuring there are adequate financial resources Spearhead and coordinate Collaborating, Learning, and Adapting (CLA) efforts throughout the life of the project to review and encourage use of data so that all technical team members can make informed resource decisions and pivot activities as needed Support the review and completion process for all project deliverables Ensure impeccable MEL files are maintained and substantiating information on data reported to USAID on the project's shared drive that can be easily accessible by project team members and available for project auditors (.
accurate, updated, Ensure MEL information is maintained and disseminated in accordance with the Kenya Data Protection Act, Palladium information security policies and USAID policies on Personally Identifiable Information Conduct and support regular Data Quality Assessments Coordinate collection and compilation of information on quarterly, annual and life of project indicators and outputs from team leaders, and progress toward planned activities Finalize and continuously update progress against the project's AMELP and maintain all files related to substantiating progress against AMELP performance indicators Respond to requests for information on the project and on project performance as needed Work proactively with the communications team to align MEL outputs with the communications strategy of the project Work closely with technical unit heads to track investment portfolio information and progress Maintain the project's MEL database/Information Management System and implement upgrades or changes as required Position Requirements: Master's degree or higher in business administration, international development, economics, statistics, or a related field Minimum seven years of professional experience in performance monitoring and/or evaluation role within an international development organization.
Experience designing and overseeing MEL data collection and reporting for economic growth/financing projects preferred.
