Job Summary:The job holder, as part of the USAID BHA programme implementation team, will provide technical guidance as well as hands on support in the implementation of the USAID Nawiri programme at Ward Level-Illeret - North HorrMain Duties and ResponsibilitiesLead MOH and local partners in the implementation of High Impact Nutrition Interventions (HINI), IMAM services, IMAM Surge, BFCI, Family MUAC approach and other health and nutrition interventions at the facility and community levelAssist the Programme Manager to provide technical support to Caritas the local partner in the implementation of the project specifically in IlleretWork with partners within Nawiri Consortium and other partners in Illeret to implement work plans as agreedIn partnership with the Sub-County Health Management Team (SCHMT) including the Sub County Medical Officer in charge of health (SCMOH), Sub County Public Health Nurse, Sub-County Nutrition Coordinator, Public Health Officers and the Illeret health centre nutritionist develop and implement monthly work plans for IMAM program including stabilization centre at Illeret health facility.Ensure programme quality control through implementation of monthly and quarterly M&EClosely monitor the nutrition situation in Illeret wardWhile working with the nutritionist and CHAs, support Telesgaye and Illeret health facilities to establish referral systems and create referral links for access to in-patient and other services beneficial to the beneficiaries not provided by the two rural health facilities in Illeret wardSupport operations of community Units and community mobilization activities within Illeret ward.Support the CHAs in monthly mentorship/coaching of CHPs and their trainings, routinely engage Community Health Volunteers and Community Health Assistants during monthly review meetings.Support with documentation of the programme implementation process to generate lesson learning as well as case studiesParticipate in coordination of and data collection and their entry into CommCareSupport Illeret ward in surveillance activities that include Coverage surveys and SMART+ to assesses the nutrition situation of the target populationWriting of weekly briefs, monthly reports as well as quarterly reportsContribute significantly to the development of regular donor reportsTogether with MOH and other partners involved in delivery of nutrition services in the ward and conduct joint support supervision visitsOversee and coordinate the implementation of MIYCN activities at the health facilities and at the community including BFCI and Family Muac approach among other interventions within NawiriWork closely with Sub County Nutritionist and CNC to ensure that all health facilities have adequate supplies of therapeutic commodities at all timeAdhere to Concern and Nawiri M&E reporting systemOther DutiesAdhere to and promote the standards outlined in the Concern Code of Conduct and associated policies to their team, beneficiaries, and be committed to providing a safe working environmentParticipating and contributing towards Concern's emergency response, as and when necessaryComply with Concern's health, safety and security guidelines during emergenciesTake all possible measure to meet Core Humanitarian Standards (CHS)Any other duties as assigned by the Line ManagerMinimumEducation, Qualifications & Experience Required:Degree in Nutrition and Dietetics or in Nursing with solid experience/background in Nutrition.Strong clinical competence and knowledge of maternal and child health will be added advantage.At least five (5) years' experience in Maternal and Child Health and Nutrition programming in both a development and emergency context.Has KNDI licence or Nursing council practicing licence.An understanding of the context, prior experience working and/or living in any of the target counties is highly desirableFluent in both oral and written English and Kiswahili, communication in the local language will be an added advantage.Proficient in computer applicationsPreference will be given to candidates who have:High integrity and demonstrated ability to follow standards and policiesAbility to work in a systematic and organized mannerPositive attitude and show willingness to learnAn innovative mind and have an ability to work under pressureExcellent leadership skillsExperience working with and through local partners in ASAL contextsExperience and knowledge of MOH systems, particularly at Sub County levelGood understanding of cross cutting issues- gender, HIV and AIDS, DRR, etc. and how to integrate them into public health and nutrition programmesExcellent interpersonal, communication and report writing skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively in teamsAn understanding of the context, prior experience working and/or living in the County is highly desirableCompetencies required:Communicating and working with othersDeliver resultsCreativity and innovationPlanning and decision making
