Key Areas of Responsibility:
Development & applications projects:
End to end project management in applied research / technology and innovation research.
Manage samples sensory evaluation on Beverage.
Beverage application. Support Beverage application using various equipment and processes.
Participate in internal and external customer requests to satisfy project needs from concept through commercialization and troubleshooting.
Develop new product specific application recipe:
Apply scientific principles for research and improvement of products beyond taste,
Retest existing application information and further refine the details / procedures to make it more acceptable for our customers.
Product & Raw Material Portfolio support and maintenance:
Maintains adequate stock of standardised collection products
Validating ingredient functionality into final products:
Fits the purpose of the customer and ensuring product stability and food safety through the conducting of shelf-life studies
Documentation of results:
Ensures all outputs are recorded according to established protocols. Documents all testing results and research notes in lab books and computer databases
Raw Materials management:
Maintains adequate stock of raw materials and ingredients
Laboratory Maintenance:
Hands-on laboratory skill and analysis of data
Exposure to Product Development, End-Use-Market Application, Sensory Evaluation Process, Test Protocol and Sensory Lexicon
Hands-on experience with product specific Application Recipes
Ability to understand New Product Development process from bench development to scale-up
Utilises Food Science to solve customer challenges.
How to communicate across a diverse organisation with many different cultures.
Hands-on laboratory skill and analysis of data
What are we looking for?
Minimum bachelors degree in food science / food technology / food engineering / chemistry, Microbiology / Biotechnology, or a related Applied Science
Strong knowledge of ingredients & recipe formulation
Leadership skills.
Innovative, ideas generator
At least 10 -12 years experience with minimum 5 - 7 years working experience in any laboratory, plant, food factory or food industry.
Team player mindset with communication & collaboration skills
Meticulous and pays attention to details.
Numerically confident and naturally analytical.
Strong communication skills, entrepreneurial mindset and capable of dealing with people at every business level.
