As a Support Subjects Trainer, you will be responsible for teaching and training students in Applied Geometry, Science, Mathematics, Entrepreneurship, and Life Skills. You will ensure the delivery of high-quality instruction in line with the curriculum and the institute's educational standards, while supporting the technical training provided in various vocational fields. Collaboration with other trainers will be key to ensuring students acquire the required knowledge and skills to meet the competencies outlined in their respective training programs.
Key Responsibilities:
Curriculum Development: Collaborate with Heads of Departments (HODs) to develop comprehensive departmental programs and training plans in alignment with the institute's curriculum.
Lesson Planning & Delivery: Prepare and deliver lessons for the relevant subjects, ensuring a thorough and engaging learning experience.
Attendance & Records: Maintain an up-to-date class register and track attendance for all assigned lessons.
Resource Management: Manage tools and equipment issued to students, ensuring proper usage and maintenance.
Health & Safety: Ensure a safe and conducive learning environment, especially during practical sessions where applicable.
Reporting & Feedback: Report any breakages or loss of tools/equipment to the HOD, and actively participate in departmental meetings to share feedback and suggestions.
Inventory Management: Assist in the preparation and management of requisitions, purchases, and inventories for teaching materials.
Examinations & Results: Assist in the administration of exams, analyzing results, and coordinating exam-related logistics.
Learning Environment: Ensure that all learning spaces and materials are in optimal condition, fostering a productive learning environment.
Qualifications:
Educational Background: Diploma in a technical field related to the subjects taught.
Certifications: NITA Grade I or its equivalent.
Pedagogical Training: Kenya School of TVET pedagogical training certificate.
Experience: At least two years of proven work experience in teaching any of the following subjects: Applied Geometry, Science, Mathematics, Entrepreneurship, or Life Skills in a recognized institution.
