The role: Bureau Veritas Kenya is seeking a top-performing Sustainability Sales Specialist to expand our client base across our Sustainability services which encompass technical support, consultancy training, assurance and certification.
The Sustainability Sales Specialist plays a crucial role in promoting and selling Bureau Veritas LEAP 28 Strategy - Transition Services such as climate & carbon, net-zero, sustainability supply chains audit, ESG reporting, etc.
The primary objective is to drive sales while ensuring that the company's sustainability goals are met.
The key responsibilities of the right candidate will include: Driving market growth focusing on Eastern African region.
Client Engagement and Relationship Management; building and maintaining strong relationships with existing clients and expand their current engagements, while identifying new business opportunities.
Understanding client needs related to sustainability and providing tailored solutions that align with their goals.
Sales Strategy Development, developing sales strategies that effectively communicate the value of sustainability services offered by Bureau Veritas.
Collaborating with Sustainability teams to create promotional materials that highlight the benefits of sustainable practices.
Market Research and Analysis, conducting market research to identify trends in sustainability within different sectors and aligned with Bureau Veritas' LEAP 28 Strategy.
Analyzing competitor offerings to position Bureau Veritas' services effectively.
Consultative Selling Approach; Utilizing a consultative selling approach to educate clients about sustainability standards, certifications, and compliance requirements.
Offering expert advice on how clients can improve their sustainability performance.
Proposal Development and Presentation; Managing and preparing detailed proposals for potential clients that outline service offerings, pricing structures, and expected outcomes.
Presenting proposals to stakeholders and decision-makers within client organizations.
Assisting Business Unit teams to qualify and win opportunities.
Collaboration with Technical Teams; Working closely with technical teams to ensure that proposed solutions are feasible and aligned with industry standards.
Facilitating communication between clients and technical experts during project implementation.
Training and Workshops; Organizing training sessions or workshops for clients to enhance their understanding of sustainability practices.
Keeping abreast of the latest developments in sustainability regulations and best practices to share knowledge with clients.
Lead and/or support the planning and organization of local customer events across Eastern African region.
Participating in industry events, conferences, or seminars related to sustainability to expand professional networks and position Bureau Veritas sustainability services in the market.
Engaging with industry groups or associations focused on promoting sustainable business practices; Supporting and/or developing customer events across East Africa region; Maintaining a robust, trusted network across the public and private sector sustainability, introduce Bureau Veritas and create and pursue selling opportunities.
Feedback Collection for Service Improvement; Gathering feedback from clients regarding the effectiveness of services provided.
Using this feedback to inform future service development efforts within Bureau Veritas.
Valuing teamwork, fostering internal and external relationships and developing consensus.
Qualifications & Skills Requirements: Educational Background: Bachelor's degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, or a related field.
Advanced degree in Sustainability or Environmental Management is a plus.
Strong knowledge of sustainability practices, including sustainability standards and regulations.
At least 5 years of experience in key account management, project management and/or management consulting with a focus on sustainability.
Ability to work independently, collaborate in a matrix organization and manage multiple accounts simultaneously Knowledge and experience in sustainable finance is a plus
