Responsibilities:
Support the Monitoring Evaluation and Learning officer in program monitoring and implementation at County, sub-County and Community level.
Participate in development and implementation of work plan and budget.
Analyze data to assess program outcomes, and impacts, and identify areas for improvement.
Maintain accurate and organized records of M&E activities and documentation.
Collaborate with County and Sub-County HRIOs in ensuring accuracy and reliable reporting of malaria program data from facility and community level.
Provide continuous technical and mentorship support to health care workers on data management processes, data analysis skills and interpretation of indicators to meet PMI REACH Malaria and MOH program requirements.
Continuously strengthen capacity of health care workers at county, sub-county, and community levels on use of KHIS and other community MoH data systems.
Participate and provide technical backstop in relevant forums at county level such as malaria technical working groups, planning, and data review meetings.
Contribute to the conceptualization and development of approaches for project MEL activities including development of tools.
Perform routine data quality assessments to ensure project reports are accurate.
Work with PMI REACH Malaria and PATH consultants to implement training, services, and programs.
Maintain partnerships on behalf of PMI REACH Malaria with MoH, donors, and other partners.
Support documentation and dissemination of best practices and lessons learn.
Required skills and experience:
Bachelor's degree in statistics, social sciences, Development Studies, Public Health, or a related field.
Experience with monitoring and evaluation in malaria/health programs will be an added advantage.
Experience working with MoH personnel and good knowledge of health systems and programs.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and communicate findings effectively.
Computer skills, including demonstrated hands-on-experience with MS Suite-Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis software (e.g., SPSS, STATA).
Strong data analysis, skills, and experience with DHIS2 systems including Kenya Health Information System and digital data visualization tools.
Knowledge: (functional or technical):
Basic understanding of malaria and health related issues, with a national focus is necessary.
Excellent understanding of USAID programs.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple requests, meet deadlines, and work with cross-functional teams.
Excellent verbal, written, communication and presentation skills.
Training and capacity-building methodologies for frontline health workers
Possess up-to-date knowledge, skills and attitude and can impact this on others.
