We are seeking a detail-orientedComputer Operator (Weighing)to operate and manage weighing processes for vehicles at our weighbridge station. The role involves precise weight recording, adherence to legal and regulatory guidelines, and close coordination with law enforcement. The ideal candidate will bring hands-on experience in data processing and vehicle compliance standards.
Requirements
Educational Background:Minimum Diploma in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business & IT, Computer Engineering, or a valid International Computer Driving License (ICDL) certification.
Experience:Minimum of 3 years of hands-on experience as a computer operator or similar role within a busy data processing environment.
Regulatory Knowledge:Basic understanding of the Traffic Act (CAP 403) of the Laws of Kenya, the East African Community Vehicle Control Act, 2016 (EACVLCA), and associated regulations.
Integrity and Compliance:Must fulfill the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution and provide a certificate of good conduct.
Technical Proficiency:Skilled in computer applications with a focus on data entry and reporting accuracy.
Responsibilities
Vehicle Weighing:Accurately weigh vehicles, ensuring correct axle positioning and configuration details for reliable weight records.
Data Accuracy:Record accurate vehicle weight and configuration details, especially for trucks liable to charges or prosecution.
Compliance Checks:Verify that vehicles sent for redistribution or weight correction are re-weighed and issued compliance certificates.
Regulatory Communication:Coordinate with Traffic Police Officers for any vehicles that fail to divert to the weighbridge as required by the system.
Driver Support:Check the legal status of vehicles and provide clear, accurate information to drivers and assisting staff.
Additional Duties:Carry out other related tasks as assigned to support efficient weighbridge operations.
