PROFILE INTRODUCTION
Our esteemed client, a hospitality establishment nestled in one of Nairobi's lush suburbs, is actively recruiting for the position of Financial Controller. The ideal candidate will provide financial leadership, ensure regulatory compliance, and drive strategic decision-making while fostering a high-performance finance team. This role is critical to ensuring the establishment's financial health and operational excellence.
Roles & Responsibilities:
Leadership:Manage technical financial and accounting matters. Implement financial controls across the finance value chain. Develop and coach finance team members to enhance performance.
Planning & Budgeting:Oversee the preparation of budgets in consultation with the General Manager and Treasurer. Develop financial performance measures aligned with the establishment's strategic goals. Monitor budgetary discipline and report on efficiencies.
Accounting & Reporting:Ensure accurate and compliant financial records. Prepare and present monthly management accounts and year-end financial reports. Reconcile accounts and manage the information system for financial reporting.
Credit Control:Oversee debt collection and analyze debtor profiles. Streamline member payment options and respond to member queries.
Treasury & Asset Management:Manage cashflows and negotiate with financial institutions for services.Maintain a fixed asset register and ensure proper treasury systems are in place.
Operational & Financial Controls:Supervise transaction processing and ensure compliance with financial policies. Regularly review and update financial policies and procedures.
Tax & Regulatory Compliance:Ensure timely remittance of taxes and adherence to legal requirements. Monitor changes in tax legislation and implement necessary measures.
Committee Participation:Attend and actively participate in board committee meetings. Implement and report on action points from meetings.

Requirements
Master's Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Commerce – Accounting/Finance
Member of the Institute of Chartered Public Accountants Kenya (ICPAK) with a practicing license
Minimum of 7 years' experience as a Financial Controller in a busy organization.
Exceptional leadership and communication skills.
Effective time management and prioritization skills
Ability to manage multiple projects with multiple stakeholders
Strong analytical, decision-making, and IT skills.
