Key Responsibilities
Planning
Implement the operational plan for overseas recruitment. Primary focus of the role will be Kenya but will also involve supporting plans for growth across East Africa.
As directed by the Regional Manager, undertake market research and disseminate market intelligence to produce country and market analysis including monitoring competitor activity.
Delivery
Deliver recruitment activity in country to drive objectives and contribute to the delivery of regional targets set by the Regional Manager
Coordinate and undertake recruitment and promotional visits throughout the year under the guidance of the Regional Manager (this will include outside normal working hours)
With the Regional Manager, prepare marketing materials for designated market / region, working within the branding guidelines of Robert Gordon University and Marketing Department
Undertake training missions to the UK (up to twice a year)
Provide regular reporting on performance compared to target and market insight to assist in the compilation of monthly activity reports
Ensure appropriate and prompt follow up action of enquiries, post event/analysis/written reports and analysis to support conversion and future planning
Fulfil conversion activity with offer holders through calling campaign, email, social media and live events
Liaise closely with Student Recruitment and Admissions, and Marketing & Communications colleagues to ensure a co-ordinated approach and excellent customer service
Develop innovative and creative ways to promote Robert Gordon University in the region designated market / region
Support Robert Gordon University's Aberdeen based colleagues and academic staff in planning university visits to maximise impact and return on investment. This may include recruitment trips as well as academic missions, research initiatives, alumni events.
Communication/PR
Develop and manage good working relationships with key influencers/stakeholders including British Council offices, agencies, schools, colleges, universities, sponsors and other appropriate organisations in the market / region
To develop and nurture relationships with RGU Alumni
Work with Regional Manager and Marketing to achieve regular media coverage in the region.
Contribute to the development of relevant country pages of the international website and the development of country-specific collateral, including the collation and exploitation of case studies.
Agents
Ensure the profile of Robert Gordon University is always high in agent offices, through regular and comprehensive agent briefings, display materials, etc.
Support the regular briefing of agents in country and compile relevant information for regular mailing and briefings to agents.
Help produce reports on agent performance by intake and over the course of their contract.
Provide an effective link between RGU's agent network and relevant RGU departments such as Admissions and key academic schools.
Progression Partnerships
Working under the direction of the Regional Manager to:
Identify any potential new areas for growth
Identify potential gaps within the market including partnership agreements to ensure that Robert Gordon University has a healthy intake of students from these institutions every year
Work in partnership with ICRGU pathway provider to maximise opportunities and share market intelligence.
Monitor
Monitor activity within assigned regional budgets
Represent RGU according to the policies and guidelines set by the University.
Professionalism
To act in a professional manor and uphold the mission statement of the University
To fully comply with data protection regulations and RGU's code of ethics
To constantly act in the best interest of Robert Gordon University.
Essential Skills, Knowledge, and Experience
Bachelor's Degree
Ability to work within a small team to achieve or exceed common objectives or targets.
Proven track record in sales or business development, with a focus on meeting and exceeding recruitment targets.
Strong writing, public speaking, and presentation abilities in business-level English both written and spoken.
Strong ability to interpret data, make strategic decisions, and provide insights to enhance recruitment performance.
Ability to develop and nurture strong relationships with agents, university partners, and other stakeholders.
Demonstrated ability to adapt to new markets and changing environments while identifying opportunities for innovative recruitment initiatives.
Ability and willingness to travel in country and overseas.
Willingness to work weekends and evenings as required to support recruitment activities both locally and internationally.
