Project Overview and Role: The Kenya Feed the Future Private Sector Activity (KPSA) is a $48 million, USAID-funded, Palladium implemented project that will accelerate inclusive economic growth in Kenya through partnerships with large agricultural firms, health firms and other sectors.
Using a systems approach, KPSA will provide a suite of customized, high-impact services that increase the productivity of firms such as SMEs, smallholders, Business Advisory Service Providers (BASPs) and Financial Institutions (FIs), increase market linkages, and mobilize finance to support targeted sectors.
From – , KPSA will use its Inclusive Growth Platform to mobilize $ million in finance, create new jobs, increase exports and sales, and increase access to healthcare services.
The MEL Specialist will support the effort of collecting and analyzing data that will ultimately determine the impact of USAID's intervention to facilitate significant and new investment.
S/he will contribute to tracking and aggregating all project data to support the team in evaluating the project's progress.
Roles and ResponsibilitiesAssist in developing the project's AMELP, which includes the knowledge management and learning planCoordinate the finalization of the AMELP and QASP and/or other required MEL deliverablesEngage with technical teams in collecting, aggregating, and analyzing baseline data in the first several months of the projectCoordinate Collaborating, Learning, and Adapting (CLA) efforts throughout the life of the project to review and encourage use of data so that all technical team members can make informed resource decision and pivot activities as neededSupport the review and completion process for all project deliverablesMaintain impeccable MEL files and substantiating information on data reported to USAID on the project's shared drive that can be easily accessible by project team members and available for project auditors (.accurate, updated, Coordinate collection and compilation of information on quarterly, annual and life of project indicators and outputs from team leaders, and progress toward planned activitiesFinalize and continuously update progress against the project's AMELP and maintain all files related to substantiating progress against AMELP performance indicatorsWork closely with technical unit heads to track investment portfolio information and progressPosition RequirementsBachelor's degree or higher in business administration, international development, economics, statistics, or a related field3-5 years of professional experience in performance monitoring and/or evaluation role within an international development organizationExperience designing and overseeing MEL data collection and reporting for economic growth/financing projects preferredUSAID or other international donor experience requiredDemonstrated ability to implement, operationalize, and manage information collection and assessment systemsDemonstrated ability to create and manage information databases using appropriate software applicationsAbility to work in a team environmentStrong writing, reporting, and presentational skillsEquity, Diversity & Inclusion - Palladium is committed to embedding equity, diversity, and inclusion into everything we do.
