About CorpsAfrica: Founded in 2011, CorpsAfrica provides the opportunity for Africans to serve as volunteers in their own countries, along the lines of the Peace Corps model.
We train college-educated young Africans and send them to live for up to one year in rural, high-poverty communities to facilitate small-scale, high-impact projects that are identified by local people.
CorpsAfrica aims to promote a culture of public service in Africa by giving participants the opportunity to apply their education, skills, and energy toward helping their fellow citizens overcome extreme poverty.

As we reach a point of significant inflection leading to future expansion, we seek to add motivated, capable, and highly effective staff to our team.
Overview of the Position: This position reports directly to the Deputy Country Director (DCD) and is a key member of the country office team.
The PPO, with guidance from the DCD, is responsible for fundraising activities of CorpsAfrica/Kenya, including the development and implementation of a 3-to-5-year fundraising strategy to financially support and strategically advance the program's operations.
This person will develop and maintain effective partnerships relevant to the organization and act as the key interface between the organization and its development partners and other audiences, ensuring consistency across the organization's messages and the partners.
This person will work closely with the Communications Team.

LOCATION : Nairobi - Kenya REPORTS TO : Country Director Specific Responsibilities: Develop and implement a partnership strategy for CorpsAfrica/Kenya, ensuring that all personnel understand the importance of the partnership strategy and their involvement in its successful implementation.
Develop strategic partnership-building approaches with government, donors, civil society organizations, corporations, and other stakeholders.
Map potential donors, sources of funding, and potential partners Be responsible for fundraising and achieving set targets.
Build and maintain excellent relations with all relevant key partners.
Establish goals for soliciting funds and develop a plan for raising funds Create materials to support donor solicitations and meetings including decks, reports, emails, brochures, etc.
Promote local philanthropy and facilitate engagements with relevant national and international stakeholders.
Help to organize and implement special events, both in-person and virtual, aimed at stewarding current donors and cultivating new donors.
Develop and manage MOUs as may arise from forged partnerships.
Work with the Communications Team to develop and implement publicity strategies for CorpsAfrica/Kenya's operations.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications: Graduate degree in International Development/Affairs, Communications, International Relations, Business, or other related fields.
A master's degree in media, marketing, or another related field, is desired but not mandatory.
Must be Kenyan.
3-5 years of successful experience in fundraising and partnership development with a focus on development, humanitarian assistance, human rights, social inequality, public policy, or in the communication sector.
Must have experience in grant writing amongst major donors and digital fundraising.
Outstanding oral and written communication skills in English.  Excellent organizational skills, with the capacity to prioritize and manage information.
Ability to work with people from different cultural backgrounds.
Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Google Suite (Docs, Sheets, and Slides) and MS Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) Good creative writing skills Ability to work independently, manage their time wisely, and meet deadlines.  Be detail-focused, reliable, and professional, and possess strong research, writing, editing, and analysis skills, as well as excellent communication, and interpersonal skills.
