The Production Engineering Manager will be responsible for implementing the strategy and plans for the continuous improvement of factory performance (efficiency and quality). They will lead, manage and develop the key production functions including Engineering Projects, Maintenance, and Spares. We are looking for a strong business leader who will also champion the philosophy of IWS (Integrated Work Systems) across the plant.
Your key responsibilities will include:
Ensure key site wide performance and quality issues are identified, targeted, and systematically reduced or eliminated to improve factory performance and reduce waste. This includes key elements of the manufacturing process, machine, materials, people, method, and environment.
Drive the maintenance strategy across the site and ensure timely resolution of process failures & break down across the all-site machinery and equipment's.
Ensure departmental budgets are in place and monitor the spend as per agreed budget and governance process agreed.
Lead & motivate the team, ensuring capability building and skills transfer to ensure succession for all key positions.
Responsible for maintenance of machine documentation i.e. manuals, safety requirements, inspection reports etc.
Manages performance of the department against targets (efficiency, quality, waste, safety, and hygiene standards) and continuously seeks for opportunities to improve performance.
To develop an environment which seeks to continuously improve, from ideas which come from not only within the department but the rest of the factory and BAT Global CBAs (Current Best Approach).
What are we looking for?
Degree in Mechanical or Electrical engineering
5 years+ experience in manufacturing at middle and senior management.
Experience in spares management, machine acquisitions, installations, and management.
People, project, organisational change.
Continuous improvement programmes to inspire change.
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent analytical skills and computer literate
