Psycho Social Counselor At Koinonia Community

Details of the offer

To ensure efficient and effective psycho social and child protection interventions in the project and the welfare of all Participants (direct and indirect) are well observed. This should be done in line with Koinonia community policies on Participants protection and care within the delegated authority of a results-based management framework.
Responsibilities include, but not limited to;
Formulate clients' cases, maintain their records and ensure high levels of confidentiality on all the cases.
Offer professional psycho-social therapy to all the Children, youth and their families.
Gather suitable information about the target beneficiaries, their welfare, and share it with fellow staff members.
Use data gathered to develop effective interventions and promote best practices
Enhance the psychosocial support program to address staff and beneficiary needs
Prepare all counseling reports and present them to the immediate supervisor.
Ensure timely implementation of psycho-social activities to address staff needs
Prepare topics on different problematic areas and their accompanying psycho-social interventions for staff training.
Provide technical guidance on psycho-social interventions to fellow staff members and partners and set benchmarks that meet the Kenya government's standards.
Provide technical guidance on child protection interventions to fellow staff members and families
To facilitate the review of the child protection policy and enhance the implementation of best practices
Conduct home and field-visits to assess family situations and to develop appropriate responses.
Develop and sustain effective working relations with partners and other participants including the government and NGOs to promote service delivery and information sharing.
Identify potential institutions that can handle referrals on psycho-social cases that are not compatible with the services of Koinonia Community.
Perform any other duties assigned by the Supervisor

Minimum Requirements and experience
Bachelor's degree in Counseling psychology or related field with a strong bias in child protection and knowledge of working with street connected children.
Computer literacy a must: working knowledge of MS office required;
Experience in capacity building which includes facilitation of community-based training and awareness
Good knowledge of children rights and child protection experience
Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
No less than 2 years previous work experience,
