AFIDEP is seeking to recruit two (2)Research Assistants (Internships)to contribute to ongoing research work on the various development policy and programmatic issues that AFIDEP works on, through undertaking literature reviews, data collection, and data collation. The ideal candidate must have a Bachelor's degree in either Economics, or Political Science, or Public Policy and Administration, or Development Studies. Candidates currently undertaking Master's degree studies will be preferred. Besides contributing to project implementation, the successful candidates will benefit from the project by acquiring new knowledge and skills.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
Contribute to the coordination of research and capacity strengthening projects.
Contribute to the day-to-day implementation of research and capacity strengthening projects.
Conduct literature reviews to contribute to ongoing research.
Conduct primary data collection and collation of data to contribute to research studies.
Support the planning and organization of project activities including policy dialogues, capacity strengthening workshops, etc.
Support the management of critical partnerships with relevant government agencies and other stakeholders to ensure ownership and support for the research work you are involved in.
Contribute to project monitoring, learning and evaluation, including preparing project activity reports, etc.
Qualifications and Requirements
Bachelor's degree in in Economics, Political Science or Development Studies or Public Policy. Candidates currently undertaking Master's degree studies will have an added advantage.
Good research and analytical skills, and some experience with quantitative and qualitative data analysis.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively on issues to a range of audiences as well as meaningfully interact and engage with diverse teams.
Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a team environment, as well as independently in a fast-paced environment and with minimal supervision.
Fluency in English, with proficiency in French desirable.
