Roles & Responsibilities:
Business Development: Identify and develop new business opportunities for flat steel products in Eastern Africa, with a focus on industries such as construction, manufacturing, and energy, food package, automotive sectors.
Client Relationship Management: Establish and maintain strong relationships with key clients, distributors, and partners across the region.
Sales Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy tailored to the Eastern African market, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
Market Research: Conduct in-depth market research to understand local demand, competition, and emerging trends in the steel industry within the region.
Negotiations and Closing Deals: Lead contract negotiations, pricing, and sales agreements with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial terms.
Sales Targets: Meet or exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales targets for flat steel products.
Logistics Coordination: Work closely with logistics and supply chain teams to ensure smooth delivery and fulfillment of orders, managing any cross-border trade challenges.
Reporting and Forecasting: Provide regular sales reports, forecasts, and insights to management on market conditions, customer needs, and sales performance.
Compliance: Ensure all sales activities comply with international trade regulations, local import/export laws, and company policies.
Requirements:
Experience: Minimum 5 years of B2B sales experience, preferably in flat steel or related industrial products, with a strong focus on international markets.
Regional Expertise: Proven track record of successful sales in Eastern Africa (e.g., Kenya, Tanzania, Ethiopia, Uganda, Rwanda).
Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the steel industry, international trade, and the unique market dynamics of Eastern Africa.
Sales Skills: Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills, with a demonstrated ability to close deals and manage long-term client relationships.
Education: Bachelor's degree in business, International Trade, Engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Language Skills: Fluency in English is required; additional knowledge of regional languages (e.g., Swahili) is a plus.
Travel: Willingness to travel frequently within the region to meet clients and attend industry events.
Tech-Savvy: Proficient in using CRM software, MS Office Suite, and other sales tools.
