GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position has the overall responsibilities of:
Lead, coach, and mentor the sales team to maximize performance and productivity, including setting individual sales targets and monitoring progress within the assigned territory. Achieve sales quotas, revenue targets.
Identify new market opportunities, build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing customers, address complaints, and achieve retention and growth targets.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms and ensure zero non-compliance with company policies and regulatory standards to maximize profitability.
Monitor inventory levels, sales forecasts, and product demand to optimize stock management and ensure timely order fulfillment.
Provide timely monthly market analysis reports, identifying growth opportunities and adjustments based on competitive insights and customer feedback.
SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Sales Engineer is responsible and accountable for the following Core job elements:
Develop and implement sales plans to achieve revenue targets and business objectives within the assigned territory. Conduct regular site surveys for technical equipment sales.
Identify market opportunities, potential customers, and key accounts for sales expansion.
Set sales targets, quotas, and goals for individual team members, and lead, coach, and mentor the sales team to maximize performance and productivity.
Build and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers, collaborators, and partners, while resolving complaints and issues in a timely and satisfactory manner.
Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms with customers to maximize sales opportunities and profitability. Ensure compliance with sales policies, procedures, and regulations.
Provide feedback to management on market conditions, customer needs, and competitive positioning.
Conduct regular sales meetings, performance reviews, and training sessions for sales staff.
Analyze sales data, market trends, and competitor activities to identify opportunities for growth and improvement.
Participate in trade shows, industry events, and customer meetings to promote products and services.
Stay informed about industry developments, product innovations, and emerging market trends.
Monitor inventory levels, sales forecasts, and product demand to optimize inventory management.
EDUCATIONAL AND COLLATERAL REQUIREMENTS:
An undergraduate degree in Engineering from an accredited University with at least seven years' experience in technical equipment sales (Generators / Solar) with a track record of achieving sales targets.
Proven ability to conduct Pump & Generator Site Surveys with an entrepreneurial, solution-oriented mindset, strong numerical skills, and adaptability in a fast-paced environment.
Self-starter. Result-oriented with strong analytical, and outstanding strategic, supervisory, project management, problem solving, interpersonal, negotiation, decision making, communication and organization skills.
IT Skills: MS Office particularly Word, excel and PowerPoint
