Youth/Community Leaders Training/Peer Exchange activities Lead (Consultant-3 opening; 1 in each state)

Position Summary
The Youth/Community Leaders Capacity Lead (Consultant) is responsible for engaging with Peace Architecture Structures and various community stakeholders. This consultant will facilitate refresher training sessions focused on Early Warning and Early Response (EWER), conflict sensitivity, conflict transformation, and non-adversarial approaches. The refresher training will
target community leaders, youth leaders, and youth from diverse backgrounds, promoting inclusive leadership and non-adversarial approaches. Additionally, the consultant will organize peer exchange workshops. The refresher training will be implemented across Rivers, Bayelsa, and Delta states.
The consultant will lead these refresher training sessions and workshops, resulting in the development of actionable plans to be carried out by the trainees. Collaborating closely with Search's capacity-building team, the consultant will design and adapt the training curriculum. This position will report to the Project Manager and work alongside other regional support staff within
the Niger Delta project.
Roles and Responsibilities
Facilitate 9 (3 sets per state) refresher training for community leaders on inclusive leadership and conflict transformation in Rivers, Bayelsa and Delta states.
Facilitate 9 (3 sets per state) refresher training for youth leaders on conflict transformation and non-adversarial engagement in Rivers, Bayelsa and Delta states.
Facilitate 9 (3 sets per state) refresher peer exchange workshops for youths in Rivers, Bayelsa and Delta states.
Work with the Youth/Community Leaders Training/Peer Exchange activities support consultant to provide details and comprehensive training reports for each of the training sessions across the three states.
Utilising Search's CGA modules, develop training materials and guide templates. The consultant will deliver training on:
Principles of Common Ground in Conflict Transformation.
Conflict resolution and mitigation strategies
Conflict Sensitivity and Do No Harm
Leadership and Dispute resolution
Non-adversarial advocacy
Transformative dialogue processes
Facilitate communication and collaboration among stakeholders to ensure effective coordination and implementation of identified actions and initiatives.
As job descriptions cannot be exhaustive, the position holder may be required to undertake other duties broadly in line with the above key duties.
Duration of the Role
The job role will be for 2 months (January 2025- February 2025) but subject to renewal based on performance.

Proficiency in the use of MS Office is required
Education
A bachelor's Degree in a related area is required, while a Master's in Conflict Resolution, International Relations, Project Management or a related field would be an added benefit.
Required Experience
At least three (3) years of experience in Programme Management and leading community engagements.
Have led the implementation of similar activities in local contexts.
Understanding of the Nigerian context especially the project locations i.e Rivers, Bayelsa and Delta States
Relevant experience working in the non-profit and NGO sector.
Substantial experience working with government officials, NGOs and communities;
Other Relevant Requirements
Good knowledge of the local languages will be an asset.
Ability to work effectively in a team environment and strong interpersonal skills;
Ability to identify issues and to use sound judgment in applying technical expertise to resolve a wide range of problems;
Knowledge of other languages spoken in the states will be an advantage;
Strong command of English language, with excellent written and oral communication and interpersonal communication skills;
A demonstrated commitment to high professional ethical standards and a diverse workplace;
Ability to prioritize, plan and organize workflow to tight timeframes, handle multiple tasks, and be flexible with changing priorities.
