Develop and Deliver Training Content:
Create training materials: Develop comprehensive training materials for women – aligned with the identified topics, suitable for both online and face-to-face formats.
Tailor and localise content: Ensure that all training content is highly tailored and localised to the Kenyan market to meet the specific needs of Kenyan women entrepreneurs.
Customise learning plans: Develop personalised learning plans based on the specific needs and goals of each participant.
Conduct Training Sessions:
Deliver online training sessions: Conduct five monthly online training sessions for the thematic group (5 women entrepreneurs), ensuring active participation and engagement from all participants.
Facilitate onsite masterclass: Lead one onsite masterclass covering the trainer's thematic area for the entire cohort of the programme (20 women entrepreneurs).
Provide One-to-One Coaching:
Monthly one-to-one coaching: Conduct monthly one-to-one online coaching sessions with each of the five participants from the thematic group, providing personalised guidance and support on their learning plans and market growth plans.
Apply learning to business challenges: Assist participants in applying their learning to challenges and opportunities they face in their own businesses.
Foster Peer Learning:
Create a supportive environment: Establish a learning environment that promotes collaboration and networking among women entrepreneurs.
Monitor and Evaluate Progress:
Track progress: Monitor each participant's monthly progress and provide constructive feedback to help them achieve their business goals.
Feedback to programme leads: Provide monthly feedback to SRC to ensure the quality of delivery and that participants' training needs are met.
Continuous improvement: Use data and feedback to continually improve training content and delivery methods.
Support Participants' Market Access:
Guide market understanding: Assist participants in understanding market dynamics and developing strategies to access and expand in their target markets (Market Growth Plan).
Report and Document:
Maintain detailed records: Keep comprehensive records of training sessions, coaching activities, and participant progress.
Prepare reports: Prepare detailed reports on training outcomes and participant feedback for project partners and stakeholders.
Note:
It is essential that trainers keep 'women at the heart' as they design and deliver the training and coaching, as well as any other activities to ensure that gender considerations are mainstreamed throughout this programme.
Ensure that all content created incorporates a gender-sensitive perspective to address the unique challenges faced by women entrepreneurs.
Use inclusive language and examples that are relevant to women entrepreneurs, ensuring representation of diverse experiences and backgrounds.
Ensure that training environments (both online and onsite) are safe and supportive spaces where women feel comfortable sharing their experiences and challenges.
Advocate for gender equality within the training programs by highlighting the importance of women's participation in the business sector and promoting role models.
Job Competencies (Knowledge, Experience and Attributes / Skills).
Qualifications and experience:
Education: Bachelor's or master's degree in law, business administration, or a related field.
Professional Certifications: Relevant certifications in legal compliance or procurement management.
Training and Coaching Experience: Proven experience in training or teaching legal, compliance, and procurement topics, with a passion for regulatory standards. Experience in delivering one-to-one coaching.
Experience Working with Women: Proven track record designing and delivering training for women, and preferably women entrepreneurs.
Continuing Education: Ability to integrate technology into legal and procurement models.
Specialised Knowledge: Expertise in areas such as contract law, regulatory compliance, procurement processes, and risk management.
Delivery: Track record of successful training engagements and ability to connect with entrepreneurs.
Local Experience: Previous experience in Kenya or East Africa is essential.
Market Access and Exports: Experience in legal and compliance within the context of market growth and exports.
